swingRemember how you told yourself you’d learn how to dance this year? Well, now’s your chance. Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing starts up again on Tuesday, with a battle of the bands between The George Gee Swing Orchestra and The Bill Elliott Swing Orchestra (East Coast/West Coast).

Over the next three weeks, bands will be playing swing and other kinds of music, including Bhangra and tango, in Lincoln Center’s Damrosch Park, just off of 62nd Street. Individual tickets cost $17. A six-night pass costs $90 and the full season pass is $160. Lessons start at 6:30 and the dancing starts at 7:30. Check out the full calendar here. (flickr photo by I.M. Bitter)
