Bomboloni Postpones Again

Bomboloni1After saying they expected to open this weekend, the owners of Bomboloni, the new Italian donut emporium on Columbus between 68th and 69th Streets, failed to open the doors yet again, let alone give out free donuts as promised. The New York Times is now pegging the opening for March 17. Delays are nothing new for the space, which has been promising to open for months, (or is it years?). Also, the website stenciled on the door, www.bomboloni.com, didn’t seem to exist as of Sunday afternoon.

Donut-lovers can take solace in this, however: once it does open, Bomboloni will almost never close. Sunday through Thursday, it’s open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday it’s open from 7:30 a.m. to midnight.

With this store, though, we will believe it when we see it. Let us know if you see the shop actually open its doors.
