Winter Jam
Snowshoe, cross-country ski and watch snowboard demonstrations at the Bandshell in Central Park. Snow machines have made tons of snow in the area. At and around the Bandshell, at about 70th Street. 11-4 p.m. FREE.

Seneca Village Tour
Seneca Village, Manhattan’s first prominent community of African-American landowners, once stood where Central Park now is today. Join David Karabell, a New York City history enthusiast and long-time Conservancy tour guide, as he sheds light on the life and times of Seneca Village residents in this program commemorating Black History Month. Take a look at artifacts, maps, and the remaining archaeological sites located near Belvedere Castle (weather permitting). The tour meets at Belvedere Castle (Located mid-Park at 79th Street). 1-2:30 p.m. FREE

Harlem Gospel Choir
Meet the Artist welcomes the world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir, whose members will have audiences on their feet, clapping and singing to their hearts’ content, enthusiastically spreading the universal message of peace, hope, and joy. In this encore visit, the choir joins Lincoln Center in honoring Black History Month by offering a rare interactive concert experience. Spend your morning with these amazing vocalists, known for their performances for (and with) Pope John Paul II, Nelson Mandela, U2, Sir Elton John, and more. At the David Rubenstein Atrium, 63rd and Broadway. 11 a.m. FREE.

R & R Saturdays at JCC
R & R: Shabbat at the JCC is an antidote to our 24/7 life style. A day to step out of the frantic pace of everyday life. A day off. From 2 to 5pm. Location: The JCC in Manhattan, 334 Amsterdam Ave. at 76th St.2 p.m. FREE.

Fantastical Creatures: A Children’s Animal Workshop
Children and their families explore the role of animals, both real and mythological, in both their lives and the Cathedral. In this two-hour workshop, families are invited to make their own animals with clay, mask-making, and sock puppets. Recommended for ages 4 and up. At the Cathedral of St. John the Divine. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. $8 per child, with accompanying adult.
