Tavern Tag Sale: Images from the End of an Era

Yes, those are Greek columns sticking out the back of that convertible driving away from Tavern on the Green Saturday. That was how awesome the Tavern on the Green going-out-of-business tag sale was. Never before have we heard more New Yorkers saying “Oh my God” at a tag sale. There were quite a few “Oh my God” items, and they were almost preposterously inexpensive — as in two formal white tablecloths for $20, or black satin jackets with glitter pictures of ladies riding tigers for less than $10.
