Earlier this week, the owner of H&H Bagels was indicted on charges of tax fraud.

Will the layer of cream cheese get thinner or will we have to pay more than $1.40 per bagel?

Both the New York Times and the Daily News reported that store owner Helmer Toro, 59, could face up to 15 years in prison. He reportedly stole nearly $370,000 in city and state taxes from his 100 employees. If convicted, he could find himself in a debt of more than $1 million.

This is not the first time H&H has faced tax problems. In May, the store was ordered by the state tax department to close for a few hours.
