Open and Shut: Kosher and Unkosher on the West Side

In the last week or so, we learned about some big restaurant openings and reopenings, and a technology company named after a fruit announced some major news too. There was also some sad news, about some very special tomato sauce, which we will get to a little later.
OPEN:
Prime Grill
The high-end East Side Kosher restaurant is coming to 85th Street and Amsterdam Avenue, and will serve Japanese-inspired food. It will also have two party rooms and a full bar. (Kosher New York)

Dovetail
The swanky 77th Street spot that won three stars from Frank Bruni last year, has expanded into the building next door. (The New York Times)
Accademia di Vino
The Upper East Side restaurant and wine bar, which also owns Italian restaurant Cesca at West 75th and Amsterdam, has opened up a new spot at 2427 Broadway near 89th Street. That’s the space that used to house Docks seafood restaurant. (Food and Things)
My Most Favorite
The Kosher restaurant and cafe, which has a location on West 45th near Broadway, will take over the old spot of the Nargila Grill on 72nd Street just off of West End Avenue. (Kosher New York)
Apple
The electronics retailer will open on Saturday, Nov. 14 for your iPleasure. It will be open until 9 p.m. every night except Sunday, when it closes at 7.
SHUT:

Bruno Ravioli
The shop, which sold pasta, sauce and other delicious items on Broadway between 78th and 79th Street, has closed. It still has a spot on 16th Street and 1st Avenue, but it’s almost impossible to justify traveling that far for pasta sauce. Almost.
I’m sure we missed something. If you’ve seen a business that recently opened or closed let us know and send us a picture if you can!
