NY1 stops just short of saying the man was arrested, instead reporting that somone is “in custody” and being questioned in connection with the robberies.
Just yesterday, the “phony deliveryman” robbed a nanny who was watching a 5-month old after pushing his way into an apartment on West 81st Street, loaded with fake packages, the Post reported in a separate article. He tied her up and held a knife to the nanny’s throat before leaving with a laptop, hard drive, and other items. The deliveryman ruse was used in 5 other robberies, starting on October 8, throughout the Upper West Side and GreenwichVillage.
Rodriguez has been arrested 17 times before, and was once charged with attempting to shoot a police officer, according to the Post.

Good to hear this. It was starting to make me nervous that they couldn’t catch a man stealing cell phones and lap tops and why I leave my phone at home when I am where I shouldn’t be.
