Dear HughCTaylor,

I am delighted to read this comment. I, personally, am in favor of trying to do as you say, help those who are working in the neighborhood; there is a positive symbiotic relationship between people who are employing workers and workers; it behooves us all to try to create more room for economic activity to occur easily. WEPS, the West End Preservation Society, of which I am the vice president, realizes that for many people, traffic itself and rules and regulations on WEA, is a stinging issue. We would like to address it as we move forward toward and beyond Historic Districting. If you would be interested in helping us in framing solutions to problems, please contact WEPS at the email above. We'd love to have you join us.

The vast majority of commercial vehicles using West End Avenue are servicing the residences along the street. How about finally metering West End and creating some space so that the plumbers, electricians, contractors and delivery trucks working for West End residents have a place to park? Let's end the absurd system in which a handful of people park for free, and service vehicles and cabs are forced to double park. A tiny number of people get free parking at the cost of traffic chaos and congestion. It makes no sense.
