fordhamFordham plans to build a public atrium and an escalator to the campus at its Columbus Avenue entrance as part of a deal the school struck with Councilwoman Gale Brewer allowing it to expand. The local community board had recommended a vote against the proposal in January.

Construction of the new campus, which runs from 60th to 62nd streets between Columbus and Amsterdam, would take 25 years and allow the school to accommodate more than 10,000 students. The full City Council will vote on the plan on June 30, the Gotham Gazette is reporting. (image courtesy Daily News)
